Live, Virtual Piano Instruction With Dave Long

Your piano education doesn’t need to suffer just because you live in a remote location, are unable to leave home, or because of the fallout from Covid-19. We can continue your journey at the keyboard together through interactive online piano lessons.

If you have any questions about how my virtual piano lessons work or the equipment you’ll need, keep reading - and if you would like to get in touch or sign up for a free trial lesson, I’d love to hear from you.

Technology & Equipment

Piano Lessons on Skype, Zoom, or FaceTime

We have a number of video chat platforms at our disposal, and I’m happy to use the software that you prefer. I’m comfortable with Skype, Zoom, FaceTime; we can always test out different platforms so we can find the one that works best.

The Equipment You’ll Need

Firstly, you will need a high speed internet connection to ensure a quality video call. You will also need a webcam and microphone, but the built-in webcam functionality on your laptop will probably work just fine. Some students even take live online piano lessons with an iPhone or Android. If you want to provide me with multiple camera angles, you can integrate your video chat software with the Many Cam app, and if you would like to provide higher quality audio, I recommend connecting a microphone or Zoom recording device to your computer.

In reality, you most likely have everything you need to get started with live online lessons - get in touch to learn more.

Who Should Take Online Piano Lessons?

Live Online Piano Lessons for Kids

If your child is old enough to engage with a 30 minute piano lesson, he or she most likely has the discipline necessary for an online lesson. Most children have already had to adjust to online learning scenarios, and piano is no different. We will conduct a trial lesson, and after that, we can decide together if online lessons are a good fit for your child.

I would ask that you minimize distractions in the room where the live online lesson will occur, and it may help for a parent or guardian to remain on-call as we get used to lessons together.

Live Online Piano Lessons For Adults

In an era of virtual work meetings and Zoom calls, you may find that online piano lessons fit your lifestyle perfectly! You can take lessons from the comfort of home, you won’t need to travel, and the quality of education won’t suffer at all. We will still work on technique, repertoire, and the other fundamental aspects of piano playing, and if you’d like to start with online lessons and progress to in-person piano lessons in Westchester in the future, that works as well!

Online Piano Lesson Pricing

My online piano lesson rates are the same as in-person rates:

  • 30 minutes: $85

  • 45 minutes: $115

  • 60 minutes: $140

  • 90 minutes: $210

Equipment fees are not included in my teaching rates, but again, you may have all of the equipment at home already.
